Admin request/Main page[edit]

How many edits are required to gain admin status here? On an unrelated note, someone pointed out on Talk:Main Page that although there are links to many content wikis on the main page, strangely Wikipedia is not one of them. Could you fix that? 95j (talk) 23:49, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It appears one standard is evidence of trust on another wiki, and another is an established editing history here. You appear to have shown or explained neither. Re the Main Page,  Done in this edit.   — Jeff G. ツ 00:01, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding this user, is this an alternate account or someone you have communicated with off-wiki? Tiptoety (talk) 01:46, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. User:Hamtechperson identifies as en:User:Hamtechperson, and they are the same person per the SUL account status utility. also identifies as The second one has engaged in some rather antisocial admin actions per this log, including blocking Juliancolton twice in violation of local Testing policy: Blocks, the first time commenting "I R SYSOP!: Blocking my Admin Coach", which appears to refer to a dispute near the end of My response was to unblock Julian, who appeared to have done nothing wrong, and notify his IRC channel. Others on that channel reminded me that Julian could have unblocked himself. The second time that user blocked Julian (again, in violation of local policy), they commented "I GOT THE POWAH!!!: And Juliancolton should get a laugh out of this one, especially when they see who blocked them." So I blocked them there. Once I found that same person starting to play around on this wiki, I blocked them here, too for cross-wiki vandalism (although I neglected to explain that in my comment). Perhaps I was too hasty in that block here. I have just reversed it and offered some explanations on both user talk pages. Sorry for any inconvenience.   — Jeff G. ツ 03:26, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No inconvenience. That said, blocking someone for their actions on a non-wikimedia foundation wiki is frowned upon (generally). I would say hold off on blocking until they do something disruptive. That said, this is only the test wiki...there is not a whole lot of "disruption" they can cause. ;-) Tiptoety (talk) 07:24, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
... except BLP vios. Thanks for your concern.  :)   — Jeff G. ツ 15:01, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

IP block exemption[edit]

Hello, do you need the IP block exemption flag?  Hazard-SJ  ±  02:30, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That would be great, thanks!   — Jeff G. ツ 01:50, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I meant as if you were in need, but it doesn't seem so.  Hazard-SJ  ±  05:37, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think adminship overrides it.   — Jeff G. ツ 05:47, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
